Excerpt
In the bathroom, Amory watched as his new servant sat in the water, hands moving beneath the clear liquid. He could see recent scars on the servant’s back. Other than that, the young man before him was a delight to look at. His form was lithe yet well-toned, with long, dark hair, wet from being washed. The prince wanted to see the man’s back flexing before him as he pounded into his body.
Why was he thinking sexual thoughts about a man he wanted to protect?
Shaking his head, he found his words. “Are you staying in there all night?”
The man in the tub froze. “M-my apologies, my lord.” He stood shakily and tripped getting out.
Amory’s reflexes kicked in and he caught the man before he landed on the ground. “No reason to apologize. I don’t want you getting sick is all.” He helped the servant stand and grabbed a towel.
“Th-thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Covyll should be back soon with clothes for you.” He dried the long hair and then ran his fingers through the damp locks. “Your hair is beautiful. You’re Latin American, yes?”
The servant nodded. “How did you know?”
“My caretaker was from Argentina. She was like a mother to me.” Amory wrapped the towel around that perfect form. “By the way, from now on you will obey me or my personal advisor, Covyll. No longer will you listen to my parents or siblings. If any of them hurt you in any way you tell me or him. Understand?”
My Review
I really liked this book and would have loved it if it was longer. I wanted to know more about the characters and hear more about their lives. I also wanted to see the bad guys bested once and for all.
The author has a great basis for a longer novel, or a beginning of a series with this book.
The prince is very caring and down-to-earth. He doesn’t try and make his servants fear him, or use his rank to get his way. His servants serve him because they love him and want to serve him.
His best friend is lovely and really looks out for the prince at all times.
If you’re anything like me, the ending will leave you wanting more. Maybe we can start a petition to give to the author 😉
